Meet our furry(And Not so Furry) Crew!
****This Page Is Under Construction! Please peruse with patience.
The farm began as a pipe dream, when owner, Dawn Thomson, was just a child. She volunteered at an animal hospital from age twelve through most of high school., and always dreamed of running her own animal shelter. In 1992, Dawn and her husband, Tom, moved to New Hampshire and opened Thomson’s Garden’s and Gifts. For years, Dawn begged to adopt some animals and start a farm. Tom was more than a little reluctant to mix farm animals with plants..... But, Dawn was - and still is - very persistent.
The dream finally became a reality in 2003 with two goats and a horse...then the quick addition of three donkeys…and all before the barn was even done being built!
Since then we have provided homes for many more animals, some house pets, but mostly farm animals....All of them came to us in need, and Each of them has their own story to tell, and their own gifts to share.
Stop by to meet the animals.....you will not soon forget these beloved furry friends!

REUBEN
Reuben is the official mascot and namesake of the farm. Back in 2003, Reuben was taken in by Live and Let Live Farm, where Dawn and Sharleigh Thomson were volunteers at the time. Reuben was severely underweight, with medical issues requiring lifelong care, but for us and him, it was love at first sight. That same day, we signed foster paperwork, brought him home within the week, and finalized the adoption a few weeks later. We refer to Reuben as "The Man" around here.....for he did start it all!

MISTER BEANS
Not exactly a rescue, Beans is a retired racehorse. Beans was sired by the great pacer BigTowner. His official racing name is Lastoneouttatown, but everyone calls him Beans. Beans wasn't the best racehorse. He loved to run, but wasn't keen on pacing, instead breaking into a canter and disqualifying himself. His owners decided to retire him and find him a home where he could just be a horse. We discovered him online, and after meeting him, quickly fell in love with his sassy personality and show-offish attitude. In November of 2008, Beanie joined the farm crew and had been a beloved member ever since.

ETERNITY
Eternity, daughter of Tiny, was born here at the farm on June 6th, 2004. She is a healthy, happy, sassy girl, who deems Dawn her favorite person. Having never known anything but life here on the farm, she's what you might call "a little spoiled," but we wouldn't have it any other way. Our promise to her and her mother Tiny, when she was born, was that we would never separate the two of them. We are blessed to have her and Tiny here together, forever....thus her name "Eternity".

BELLA
Bella, the runt of her litter, arrived at the farm after her owner decided to try to find her a home without much luck. Her biological brother, Shylo, also lives here at the farm. Bella is incredibly smart, playful and gentle. Her enormous "dingo" ears dominate her head and will have you laughing with delight. She is known around her as "the dog with the ears", as dubbed by her veterinarian when she was a puppy.

SMUDGIT (SMUDGE)
Smudgit was a victim of a local fair. Sold to a minor, Smudgit was unable to stay with his new owner, due to the "no pet" policy of their landlord. Reuben's Rescue Ranch was called by the minor's distressed mother. Smudge has lived at the farm for many years now, and has aged into a charming old man. In the summers you may find him in his favorite spot atop one of our picnic tables, chilling in the shade of an umbrella. He LOVES to be pet by visitiors...especially if they bring carrots!

KARLI
When Karli was just a kitten, she was found nearly buried in a snowbank during a bad storm, and brought to Reuben's Rescue Ranch. She has lived here ever since. Karli, which means "covered in snow" in Turkish, loves the outdoors, but prefers to drink water directly from a running indoor faucet. She's an independent sort, but occasionally likes to cuddle with her humans....or wrestle.....sometimes both at the same time. It all depends on her mood. Not overly fond of new people, if you are lucky, you might spot her passing through the yard on "Open Farm Day".
